This clipping from Jan. 31 1963 shows the facade of Bill’s IGA, which held its grand opening that week in the new location. The building, which is located next to the Exponent in Brooklyn, is currently undergoing a complete overhaul by Steve Hoover, who is turning it into a small shopping mall. Before moving to this location, the previous store was called Bill’s Sav-Mor and was located north of town. In the 1970’s, store officials made another move, taking the IGA store south to what is now Shopko. The building at left then was turned into a strip mall, and housed several businesses, from a coffee company, a book store, a gymnasium and even a women’s lingerie store. Most recently the structure held a Dollar General.
