Fourth of July celebrations
Brooklyn will host its Fourth of July parade Tuesday, July 4, with line up at 9:30 a.m. on Monroe Street between Weatherwax Park and Broad Street and the parade begins at 10 a.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk at Columbia Upper Elementary School, 321 School St., Brooklyn. Act III and Mid-Michigan DJ’s will be performing during the fireworks.
Lake Columbia will host its Fourth of July fireworks Saturday, July 1 at dusk.
Cascade Falls, 1402 S. Brown St., Jackson, is hosting its Fourth of July fireworks Monday, July 3 at dusk.
The Devils and Round Lake fireworks show is scheduled for dusk Monday, July 3. The fireworks will be launched from the Devils Lake sandbar and synchronized to music broadcast on WLEN 103.9 FM.
Hanover-Horton is hosting its Fourth of July fireworks Tuesday, July 4 at dusk in Perrine Park (between Village and American Legion ball diamonds).
Other activities include July 2 – fishing contest, pig roast, kids games, auction and more; July 3 – family street dancing 7-11 p.m.; run/walk 6-8 p.m.; July 4 parade line up at 8:30 a.m., parade at 9 a.m.; Firecracker 5 mile run/walk 8 a.m., kids run 9:15 a.m.; music, Windy Mountain Boys at 1-3 p.m. 3 on 3 basketball and much more.
The Michigan Theatre presents . . .
The Brooklyn and Jackson Kiwanis Clubs are sponsoring the Michigan Theatre Summer Kids Film Series. The next scheduled film is Monster Truck, which runs July 4 and 5. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the film is shown at 10 a.m., and at 1:30 p.m. and the film is shown at 2 p.m.
