Irish Hills Eagles to serve all-you-can-eat taco dinner

The Irish Hills Eagles #3689 is serving an all-you-can-eat taco dinner on Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for scholarships.

Arts in the Park

The next Arts in the Park will host Bobby Elrod & Friends Friday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at Swain Memorial Park in the Village of Brooklyn. Arts in the Park is held at Swain Memorial Park, behind Guthrie Ford. Bring a friend, your family and a comfortable lawn chair and enjoy the concert.

 

Cascade summer concerts

The Cascades Family Night concert will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 7 to 11 p.m. and will feature a Disney Night Extravaganza with Karen Kidder & Alibi Band.

The Cascades Rotary Bandshell will hold its next concert Saturday, Aug. 19, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature Jump Start with Tim Farrell.

The Cascades Falls Park is located at 1401 S. Brown St., Jackson.

 

Black Box Summer Series comes to a season end

 The Tecumseh Center for the Arts will close out its Black Box Summer Series Thursday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. with pianist and songwriter Matthew Ball. Matthew Ball is described as “Michigan’s leading boogie-woogie pianist!”

Boogie Woogie Kid is the final show for TCA’s Black Box Summer Series. The lobby opens at 6 p.m. with a variety of refreshments including beer and wine. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 517-423-6617, at the box office located at 400 N. Maumee St., Tecumseh or online at www.thetca.org. Like TCA on Facebook and keep up to date on the cultural entertainment and live performances scheduled this summer and beyond.

 

 

Critters up close at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

The Leslie Science and Nature Center will host Critters Up Close at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. This program is recommended for all ages. This month’s featured critters are snakes. For more information, call 734-997-1075. The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is located at 220 E. Ann St., Ann Arbor.

 

 

Blood drive at Addison fire department training center

 

The Quaker Willing Workers 4-H Club is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive Friday, Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Addison Fire Department Training Center, 319 E. Main St., Addison.
